Once you have been invited to join Online Bidding, you have a number of options available to you.
Max Bidding Information
Max Bidding allows your online bidders to set the maximum amount they are willing to spend on a Package so that the system can bid on their behalf up to the Max Bid. This means they don't have to continually monitor the Package and manually place bids as others bid against them. They only need to act if someone places a bid higher than their Max Bid.
Example Scenario:
John places a Max Bid of $100 on a Package. John is the current leading bidder at $10. Mary attempts to bid $20. The system will then immediately place a counter bid from John at the next highest increment, in this case $30. This will continue until a bid outbids John's Max Bid.
Who wins the bid if Mary places a $100 bid? John does. Because the system has hit John's Max Bid, it can't place a higher bid of $110 automatically for him, but John placed the $100 Max Bid before Mary placed the $100 straight bid, so John will still be the winning bidder until someone places a bid higher than $100.
This year’s auction will use Greater Giving Online Bidding – allowing for a paperless bidding system. You will bid using your smartphone or tablet on silent auction items. Also, you can easily track Packages by “following” their activity without having to continuously return to a table or bid sheet.
